Using the coiling technique, we were assigned to create a cylindrical vessel that was thick enough to carve designs into. It also needed to be taller than it was wide. I wanted to make a really cool design that had shells as well as circular aspects to it. I used a rounded clay carving tool to create the indents in the pot and carved them from the outside into the inside.
I think that it came out super pretty, I love the colors I chose. I think that green was not a color that I would've expected to paint it. My first choice would have been blues, but I felt that I had used enough blue in my previous projects. The only thing that went "wrong" was the fact that I forgot how many layers I had put on the pot since the glazing was over the span of a few days.
