The Man of My Dreams

--

Acrylic Paint

This was the second piece of the Sustained investigation project, I wanted to do something very different from the first one, but I still wanted to use a material that I hadn't used before, so I picked out a piece of black canvas paper. I was trying to connect this theme of mystery and or confusion into each piece. I wanted it to be simplistic but have a deeper meaning that I know.

I used black canvas paper and painted on top with many layers of acrylic paint adding white or black to darker or lighten each color.

I really like the end result for this piece, I think that the teal color of the water created a nice contrast with the black background and the white clouds. I think that in my head I was going to create a more detailed piece that told more of a story, but I didn't give myself any time to work on it and ended up only starting it the day that it was due. There is a white line around the figure's head that I wish wasn't there, I drew the outline in a white colored pencil, and I could not get rid of it.
