Photography 2

I'm so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be able to take not only one but two photography classes throughout my high school experience. I have learned and relearned so much this year in Photography 2. I got the chance to improve my photography skills and techniques. I learned how to further use Photoshop to edit and create stronger images. I practiced my film rolling and developing skills. I learned that you can literally paint with developer. And finally, I got to see so many different styles of photography through my classmate's work.

The hardest thing I found in photography was rolling film. I have only made one perfect roll of film this whole semester. I did get to practice a lot though. I struggled a lot with this issue, sometimes it was so bad I had to retake a whole roll because nothing turned out or it was touching so it couldn't develop. Overall, I think this was a minor issue because I usually had enough images turn out.

My favorite project this year was painting with the developer because I thought it was cool. I liked not having the whole image visible or developed because it made it kind of mysterious. It allowed the viewer to think about what the rest of the image looked like. It also allowed me to be even more creative.

I wouldn't say I had a least favorite. I think they were all fun. I did struggle the most with the portraits because I took them all inside so the lighting was all messed up. Because the lighting was messed up I had to retake all of the images and even with retakes, I struggled with lighting.

I got to learn so many more styles and techniques in this class. I do wish we had looked at more of other people's work to see even more styles but overall I'm happy with the work I made and the work I saw from professionals and classmates. I liked that not everyones style was the same or their images but we all completed the same projects.
