This unit was about using negative space. Negative space is when you focus, not on the main object, on the space or air around the object.

For the zentangle we focused on different shades of grey. We were asked to create different shapes and lines. They all had to be different densities. Making them like this helped them be different shades because more white was showing.

For the hands and leaves, we focused on the space around the main object, the negative space. For the hands we just looked at our had and drew the space around it. For the leaves we put a bunch of leaves on a piece of paper. We then drew the space around the leaves and filled it in with a type of design.
