'Make a Change'

When I chose my two artist to combine their art I wanted to do something that would be doable in the time that I was given and something I would have fun doing and knew I was capable of doing. I chose Marcel Duchamp, to paint on something that was already created, and Banksy, to paint about a problem. When I chose banksy and started thinking about issues I remembered the global warming competition we talked about in art class. I decided that I would submit this art piece as my entry.

To create this piece I bought a mirror, as the thing that was already created, and painted some lightly snow covered grass and a body of water. I then painted a penguin with its reflection staring back at it from the surface of the water.

I didn't think that that really stood out as a global warming thing, so I put the words 'Make a Change' on top of the mirror hoping it would make it stand out a bit more. Then I photographed it and finished.
