Makers Stamp

Our second project was to make a makers stamp. Everybody made their own design and carved it into a clay figure that looked like a handle or a stamp. For mine, I wanted to make something simple but also something I liked. I thought of the simplest thing I could make that still somehow related to me. I wanted to do a shark or manta ray or something similar but I knew I wouldn't be able to do that. Instead, I made a star because they live in both the sky and the sea. I traced out an outline on the surface of the clay after I made the shape of the stamp. I then carved out the shape so that when pressed on the clay it would imprint a star. I think it could have turned out better and looking back on it I wish I had done something like a simple mountain range with a sun shining above it.
