In order to create my self portrait I use a method that involved drawing a graph on both my photo and drawing. The reason being that it makes it easier to draw the whole picture because it is causing you to focus on smaller portions of the image. This makes you focus more on each line and shade rather than the whole image.

I used multiple shades and types of different graphite pencils in order to create shadows and spots that are lighter or darker. This made the final product to be made up of greys, whites, and blacks.
