For my second project, I decided to make a small bag. I used an old sheet that I had in my closet. I chose this sheet because I liked the color and design, but mostly because I liked the top part, which you can see in the bottom left picture. I didn't have a template for this project either. I just used the knowledge I already had to create this bag.
My first step was to cut out a rectangular piece of fabric. It was about 30cm x 45 cm. I then folded this piece of fabric in half and sewed along both sides. To do this, I flipped the fabric so the right sides were facing in and sewed. This way, the stitching wouldn't be visible when the bag is flipped the right way. I then put the bag back right side out to make sure everything looked good and was sewn together.
My next step was to cut out the top piece of the sheet, which I would use for the handle. I cut out a strip about 40 cm long. I flipped the bag back inside out and sewed each of the ends of the handle to the sides of the bag. I trimmed the excess thread and flipped the bag back right side out. Overall, I like how it turned out. I do think that this project was easier to complete compared to my first one. My favorite part of it is the handle. I love the detail on the fabric and will definitely be using this fabric in the future for more projects.
