For this project, I took a pair of pants I had already made that were a little weird the way they were sewn and put together, and I attempted to fix them. The first thing I had to do was rip the stitching in the front. Once that was one I put the pants on inside out and, where the pant legs meet, I pinned where I wanted them sewn so they would fit a little better. Once it was pinned, I took it to my sewing machine and sewed next to the original seam.
At this point, my thread in my bobbin ran out, and I had to refill it, which was a little bit of a pain because I was only about halfway through sewing the pants together when it ran out. Once it was filled again and my seam was done, I took the pants off the sewing machine, flipped them right side out, and tried them on. They already fit so much better, but the waist was still a little bit too loose. To fix this, I decided to put an elastic string in the waist of the pants. However, in order to do this, I had to put the pants back inside out and flip the waist part over and create a place for the string to be fed through, as seen in the picture second from the right. Once I had pinned and sewn, I cut two small holes in that area, making sure to only cut through one layer of the fabric, and tied a knot at one end of the string and fed it through the loop. Once that was done, I tied a knot on the other end as well and put the pants on right side out and tied the string.
Overall, I think the pants look and fit a lot better than they did to begin with. I'm really happy with the outcome, but I'm not sure if I will ever wear these pants. The fabric is a little bit see-through, so maybe my next project will try to make it double-lined, but that may be hard due to the fact that the pants are already sewn and done.
