Man Made

Artist Statement;

I took these images of an old coat on the lost and found rack and an image of Meaghan holding a camera and taken an image herself. I took the image of meg because humans are man made and the camera she was holding was also man made. For the coat image, I liked the way that all the hangers were empty except for the one coat. In the image of the coat, I used leading lines with the rack to add some detail and dimension to the image. When I was developing both the photos, I wanted to make the images themselves smaller than the preset border that I would have gotten with the paper holder so I pulled the enlarger down closer to the paper which created a natural border.With the image of Meg, I didn't want to make a full sized image and personally, I love the look of the 5"x7" because it looks like a large polaroid so I did that for the final photo. The last image I created was a cyanotype of the same coat rack image because I really liked the image. With this, it took me 5 tries before I got any image at all to show up. Although you still cannot see the full image, I thought that I could still use it and create something cool and unique with it.
