Thoughtful Portrait
Artist Statement;
This photo is a collage of four different people, Olivia, Matt, Abbi and Kayla. This photo almost makes you think about what the deeper meaning behind it is because of how different and unique it is. When I took these photos, originally I had planned on taking photos of four or five different people looking straight at the camera and then I would line all the photos up on top of each other and delete columns so that there was this one face that was created by four or five slivers of different peoples faces. In the end, I really liked how this photo turned out though. To create this photo, I put the four photos into photoshop and the one thing that I knew when I started editing it was that I wanted the two faces facing forward, to be on top of each other and to cut certain part of one of the face out to reveal that part of the face from the other photo. Once I had done that, I still had the two photos of people facing outward and I wasn't quite sure what to do with them so I tried putting one on the side and turning the opacity down so it was almost like a shadow and I liked how it turned out so I did it on the other side as well. I didn't want both of the photos to be in the same place on the photo so I moved the photo of Kayla down to create an unbalance between the two.
