This is a photo I took of a Japanese lantern I have hanging up in my room. I chose to take this photo because when I thought about the title "Unique Lighting" I wanted to find a way that light is produced other than your typical, everyday sunlight or light bulbs so I tried to find a different way light was produced. Although this Japanese lantern was also powered by light bulbs, the paper casing makes it look different and somewhat unique. I really liked the way that that the paper was illuminated but not to the point where it looks weird or you can't tell what it is. The ball of brighter light in the center of the bottom also adds to the photo I believe. In this photo, I made sure to line up the cord of the light bulb so that it would create a leading line into the focus of the image which in this case, was the lantern. Personally, this photo reminds me of a lot of amazing memories because last summer I went to a summer camp and I got to meet a bunch of amazing people. On the last night of the camp, we all lit real Japanese lanterns outside and let them fly up into the sky. That same night we did a bunch of other fun activities and we all had an amazing night. This Japanese lantern I have hangin in my room reminds me of that every time I look at it.
