Monochromatic

Artist Statement;

I took this photo of two bottles on the mantle above my fireplace one afternoon because as I was walking into my living room when I saw how simplistic the two items looked on top of the white mantle. I wasn't sure if this photo would count as analogous or monochromatic but I wanted to use it for something so I decided I would use it as my monochromatic because although the colors are slightly different, they are all of a very similar shade and tone. Some of the rule and techniques that were used in this photo are rule of thirds, because both items are on the left third of the photo, and informal balance because the right side is completely empty. Using these specific rules and techniques helped to make this image stronger because without them, this photo would have been much messier, almost unorganized, and not as strong of a photo. I like this photo because of the simplicity of it and although its is simply feathers and fluffy pants, it gives off a very homey feeling, which make this photo feel very comforting to me.
