Creative Landscape
Artist Statement;
This is a piece I created for "Thoughtful Landscape" because when I thought landscape, I really wanted to create a photo of a sunset on a beach. I drove 45 minutes to go to Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth to take these photos. I arrived at the beach around 6:50. It was extremely windy but I knew that I wanted to go out and take photos anyway. I got down to the beach and was very disappointed to see that there were no pretty colors in the sky. The sky was just a bunch of different types shades of a bluish grey. It was a very cloudy, cold, windy, evening but I decided that I could still probably get at least one decent photo. I took my phone out and began to take some photos. I chose to use this photo to edit and make as my final image because of all the different parts and pieces to it, the ocean, the sand, the grass, the seaweed, and the islands. My inspiration to edit this photo was something I saw on instagram of a photo of a person and there would be small parts of the image in different places outlined in white lines with a dashed line leading to where that part of the image is. I had made several of these with photos of different people and when I saw the title "Thoughtful" landscape I was thinking of different way to edit this photo when I thought of those images. I thought that if I tried that on this image it could look neat and unique so I did just that.
