The Groovy Desert

18*24

Acrylic on canvas

The main idea that guided me through this art piece was creating a colorful desert landscape using an abundance of colors. I wanted to make my scenery not look realistic but rather colorful and very dreamy. I used the greens for the cactus then I used the rest of the colors for the mountains, sky, and foreground. I wanted to be as gentle as possible with using the colors so I wouldn't smudge any onto one another.

The materials that I used to create this project were: Paint pen, sharpie, and acrylic paint on 18*24 paper.

The process started when I first had to brainstorm my ideas in class and then once I had my idea on what to make, I went to work on the outline. Next, I had to mix each color and go through the checklist, checking off each color as I added them. I was satisfied with the way this artwork turned out overall, but the only problem was I didn't know how to make my outline black lines darker so white would not show. This project was really hard because I felt like I had to rush a little bit because I had been out sick for a week due to a really bad sore throat so I couldn't get anything done.
