LEGO sculpture part
LEGO MOBILE
For this project, we were tasked with coming up with an idea of what we could use and implement for the next series of projects we would be doing through a series called sustained investigations. The hardest part of this project, specifically for me, as far as I am concerned, is coming up with ideas, which I have struggled with. Another struggle was the unexpected illnesses that I have continued to develop, which interfered with the time I could have been working on this project. But once I came up with my idea, I knew what to do. I decided to go with a project centered around randomness, which I struggle with in my neurodiversity, as I always need instructions to tell me what and how I am supposed to make something. So, this was a challenge as I had to work with materials to make something creative.
The materials I used included LEGOs for the little objects hanging off the wire. Tape and paper are used to create that mobile kind of look that allows the LEGO objects to hang off.
I first started by letting my parents pick individual LEGOs that I did not like myself so I could then build and make into something interesting. I wanted to go with a mobile as I thought it would be interesting to incorporate with LEGO. The initial part of creating the LEGO objects was hard, but once I got going, it got easier. Then, after I had the LEGO objects created, I tied some metal lines to them to allow them to hang off the mobile. This was pretty difficult as when I was putting the LEGO objects together, they would fall off and get out of order, so I had to try putting them at different heights, which worked out nicely.
