Title: La Ville Du Futur. (The Future City in French!)

For this project we were with making a piece of art with any material we wanted but it had to be a relief form consisting of three dimensional elements from a flat base. This was a particularly difficult project for me as I did not really have any inspiration for what I wanted to make, I first thought of making a stormy sea and then I thought of making a peacock but I didn't know where to start. I also got sick a few times in a row and had to go to Key West FL in February so this project just sat undone and not paid attention to for a while. If I had to restart my approach to this project Ms. Medsker, it would be to have more courage and inspiration on what it was that I wanted to create and to also have FUN with it along the way. Eventually I got to a point where enough was enough I had to think of something, so I decided to go with LEGO'S since my house has the most LEGO'S in Freeport. I might as well put them to good use, so I decided to go with a rough idea of what a futuristic city would look like, but in a LEGO standpoint.

The materials I used were quite simple: LEGO bricks, base plate and my wrinkly looking hands.

I first started by looking at a few references of what a real futuristic city would look like using images that I printed and laid out on the floor so I could use as inspiration as I continued to make my project. Then I ultimately started by just experimenting for a while with just building buildings so I could see which ones fit the futuristic look. Finally after I made my buildings I then had to add some relief onto them and make them look three-dimensional. I didn't care what I added onto the buildings as long as it was realistic and made sense, I really just wanted it to look abstract. After I had the buildings all put together I made a solid background consisting of blue and green, blue because its my favorite color and green because green goes well with blue and because future cities will likely be sustainable in the future (I HOPE). Then finally I just finished decorating the LEGO sculpture with LEGO plants and I was finally done.
