Dear Parents,
Today we had an all school Thanksgiving Prayer Service and reflected on what we are thankful for. We reflected on the importance of family and how to not take the many blessings we have for granted. We also reflected on how we can help those less fortunate than us and be of service to those in need. We appreciate all the food donations from our students and families for our Thanksgiving food baskets that were delivered today to La Familia.
It is such a blessing to work with our amazing students and truly wonderful faculty and staff on a daily basis. The love, care, and support of the entire St. Michael’s community is incredible. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and care of your children. Our school is such a special place because of them.
We would like to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving and a safe, restful, and enjoyable Thanksgiving break!
Congratulations to our volleyball team for their 2nd place finish in state competition! Also congratulations to our football team competing in the semifinals on Saturday at home against NMMI, as they continue their quest for their third state championship in a row! Let’s all come out and cheer them on. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal
Thank You, Horsemen Community!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our students, families, faculty, and staff for your generous contributions to this year’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to fill 25 complete Thanksgiving meal boxes for families in need.
A special thank-you to Ms. G and WAVE for their incredible hard work, organization, and dedication in making this year’s drive a true success.
This afternoon, all boxes were delivered to La Familia, where they will bless local families just in time for the holiday.
Thank you for living out our Lasallian mission and for making a meaningful difference in our community!
Parents, please do not block the student drop off in the morning, especially as we get closer to the start of school. This creates a back up in the parking lot and causes students to be tardy. Thanks for your help!
Now that is getting darker, please remind your students to be aware of their surroundings when they are leaving practices and activities.

Let us remember . . .
Our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle once wrote: “the more uncomplicated your view of faith, the more surely you will be disposed to simplicity of action and conduct, which is the disposition God wants of you.” (Letter 117). Perhaps the least complicated encapsulation of our faith is summed up in Jesus’ two greatest commandments to love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. That’s pretty much it. It’s not always easy, but it’s not complicated.
So how do we do that? One of the least complicated ways to express our love for God is to practice gratitude. It’s free, and won’t take a second out of your day. Practicing gratitude is more than saying grace before meals. It is a state of mind and, more importantly, a condition of the heart. It is feeling God at work in all things, and seeing all things as gifts to be grateful for. In turn, gratitude almost always begets generosity.
This Thanksgiving week, remember to take some time to practice gratitude.
Wishing a safe, loving, and joy-filled Thanksgiving holiday to everyone!
Live Jesus in our hearts . . .
