Dear Parents,
It has been a great homecoming week culminating with our pep rally this afternoon. The school spirit of the students has been wonderful every day with the different dress up themes, hall decorations, and competitions amongst the classes. Homecoming is such a great time of year and we are looking forward to the St. Michael’s community coming out in force to cheer on our football team at the homecoming game tomorrow. We will be promoting breast cancer awareness and recognizing our homecoming king, queen, and court at the game.
We want our students to have a safe and enjoyable time.at the dance tomorrow evening. We ask that you please review the policies and expectations for the dance with your child as all dance rules will be enforced.
This month our students and staff have been promoting Breast Cancer Awareness with many activities to raise money for the cause. We keep those struggling with any type of cancer in our thoughts and prayers. Our students and staff are also conducting clothing, food, and blood drives to help those in need, especially as winter begins to set in. Service to the community and supporting those who are suffering is an important part of who we are as a school.Your support with our service learning projects is greatly appreciated.
Our student athletes have been working hard to try and win District titles in our various fall sports and prepare for State competition. Please come out and support our teams in their quests for state championships. We would also like to wish our choral arts and orchestra students the best of luck as they audition for All-State.
The parental support that is provided to our school in a variety of ways is greatly appreciated. We could not accomplish what we do without you. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

Counselor's Corner:
As college application season gets underway, it’s important for seniors to start thinking about their letters of recommendation! These letters give colleges a more personal picture of who a student is beyond grades and test scores, but there’s a process to follow:
1) Ask first (and ask politely!)
Before adding a teacher as a recommender in Naviance, students should personally ask their teachers if they’re willing to write a letter of recommendation. A thoughtful, early request goes a long way!
2) Using the Common App?
Students must request teacher letters of recommendation through Naviance. This ensures the letter connects properly to their Common App schools.
3) Not using the Common App?
Students should research each college’s requirements and follow the correct process for submitting letters (for example, some may prefer email submission or an institutional portal).
Parents, please encourage your seniors to plan ahead, give teachers plenty of notice, and always express gratitude for their time and support.
If you have any questions about this process, please reach out to Ms. Martinez!

Let us remember . . .
In late 17th Century France, Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque began having visions in which Jesus spoke to her about the infinite mercy and unending forgiveness in His sacred heart. After numerous of these visions, she approached Fr. Claude La Colombiere to see if he would be her spiritual director and help her interpret her visions. Fr. Colombiere was skeptical, and gave her the following challenge: “the next time Jesus visits you, ask him what was the last sin I confessed. If you come back with the right answer, I will be your spiritual director.”
Jesus did, in fact, visit Sr. Mary Margaret again, and she asked Him what the last sin was that Fr. Colombiere confessed. When she next met with Fr. Colombiere, she told him that she asked Jesus his question. “And what did Jesus answer you,” he asked? Sr. Mary Margaret replied, “He said, ‘I don’t remember.’” “Yes,” replied Fr. Colombiere, “I will be your spiritual director.”
Live Jesus in our hearts . . .
