The school building will be closed July 4th for observance of Independence Day
The school will also be closed on July 7th for a training taking place on campus. Office staff can be contacted via email from 8am - 2pm.
On July 7, 2025, the 2025 AP® score reports will be released. Students who took AP exams can access their scores through their College Board accounts.

July 10-12th: Soccer camp is designed for every level of player in grades 3-8 girls and boys who are new to soccer or have been playing for years. The camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game including dribbling, passing, and shooting, and play will take place in small-sided games, providing every player with many touches. The Horsemen Soccer Camp will be led by Head Coach Michael Feldewert, his coaching staff, and current players.
July 15-18th: Basketball camp is open to all boys and girls entering grades 3 - 8. Campers will spend time developing the fundamentals of the game: shooting, offensive moves, defense, rebounding, and more. Campers will also spend time, putting the fundamentals into action as they participate in team play. The Horsemen Basketball Camp will be led by new Head Coach Dakota Montoya, his staff, and current players.
The Parents Association will have a School Uniform Donation Drop on Saturday, July 13th from 9:00am - 11:00am in the parking lot between the Football and Baseball Fields.
Please drop off gently used and cleaned appropriate school uniforms. We will only accept polo shirts, tee shirts, sweatshirts, and sweaters. We will not accept any pants, shorts or skirts.
The Parents Association will have its first Twice is Nice sale on Saturday, July 27th from 9:00am-11:30am in the parking lot between the Football and Baseball Fields! We will sell gently used and cleaned school appropriate uniforms at affordable prices! Come and grab some bargains. Supplies will go fast. We hope to see you there!
Fall sports official seasons are just around the corner. All student-athletes must have an updated annual physical after April 1st of each year to participate in NMAA athletics. Click HERE to access the physical form or pick one up in the front office.
Also, St. Michael’s High School has switched to an online platform for all Physicals and Documentation for the upcoming school years. This will be used for all student-athletes participating in athletics for both Junior and Senior High. We will no longer be accepting paper physicals so if any are handed in, please ask them to upload all paperwork on Rank One. All physicals must be dated after April 1, 2025. As we approach the upcoming school year this means that the tax free weekend (July 25-27) will be approaching soon. We want to provide families with a general list of supplies that teachers have requested for the school year. Click HERE for the recent list.
7th and 8th grade preseason conditioning and workouts begin Monday, July 29th on the SMHS football field at 4pm. Please bring a water bottle, running shoes, and cleats.
Official practices for the junior high football season will begin on August 12, 2024.
Students who are not up to date with their state-required school immunizations, or who do not have an official Certificate of Exemption from the NM Dept. of Health on file with the school, will not receive schedules in August. Mr. Armijo sent out a reminder at the beginning of June to returning students (and parents/guardians) who are not in compliance with their immunizations.
Communication with our families and community is important. The Remind communication platform allows educators, students, and families to connect quickly, efficiently, and effectively. Whether you use email, text, or the smartphone app, you can connect from any device.

We have a list of students who have not turned in their textbooks and Chromebooks (with chargers).
Please check with your students to ensure they have turned in their materials to the school.

The technology depatment continues to work on updating the list. Students may not receive a Chromebook on Orientation Day (August 12-13) if they did not return their Chromebooks.
Is your student interested in a Program of Study? We have three programs of study outlined in the 2024-2025 Course Catalog. Our three programs of study include:
STEM-Medical
Foreign Languages and Biliteracy
Visual and Performing Arts
Students interested in completing a Program of Study must schedule an appointment with the Academic Office to complete their high school course plan for filing.
If your student started the Medical Magnet Program as a freshman (2021-22), they must file a program of study form with the Academic Office.

Just a reminder that the summer reading lists for 7-12th grades are available on our school website and in the grade level Google Classrooms. If students have not started, it is highly recommended that they begin as soon as possible, ensuring that their assignments are prepared for the first weeks of school.

Class of 2026, your Naviance accounts are available as you begin to plan your college trajectory, some colleges of interest may have early action/decision dates. Naviance provides a comprehensive platform for students, parents/guardians, and the Academic Office to collaborate and support student success. With the student at the center, Naviance provides effective tools that prepare our SMHS high school students for their futures and provides the Academic Office with actionable insights.
The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to over 1,000 member colleges and universities. Students can complete one application for multiple schools using the Common App platform. The video provides information on creating a Common App account and linking it to Naviance.
