Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that there are only three months left in the school year. This is the stretch of the semester where there is more time between breaks. It is important that students maintain their focus and do not let their grades slide. Lately we have been seeing students less prepared for tests and quizzes and waiting until the last minute to study and complete assignments. As a result, we are seeing more students resort to cheating. We take academic integrity very seriously and expect all our students to be honest, respectful, and responsible in their academic work.
Some violations of academic integrity include copying someone else's work and submitting it as one's own, copying someone else’s answers on a test or quiz, using material or a device dishonestly, and providing answers to other students helping them cheat on homework, tests, or quizzes. Violations of academic integrity may result in students receiving a zero for the assignment, test, or quiz impacting the student’s overall grade. Students may also receive detention and/or Saturday school. Please help impress upon your students at home the importance of academic integrity in their learning and future success in high school, college, and beyond.
This week we experienced our intercom system being down preventing us from having bells and making announcements. Our intercom system is old and in need of repair. It seems that our intercom system is so old that the necessary parts to repair it are hard to come by and had to be special ordered. We will more than likely be without bells and announcements well into next week. The students have been doing a great job getting to classes on time without much prompting. They are actually making it to class quicker and more efficiently. Announcements are being relayed through Google Classroom and verbal announcements in class.
Our winter sports teams are wrapping up their regular seasons and beginning to prepare for District tournaments and state competition. Let’s cheer on our teams in their pursuit of state championships beginning with swimming, diving, and wrestling this weekend. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

Let us remember . . .
21 February: Feast of Saint Peter Damian
This was symbolized by the ladder which Jacob saw in a dream…Angels were going up and coming down…You must do the same thing for the children entrusted to your care. It is your duty to go up to God every day by prayer to learn from him all that you must teach your children, and then come down to them by accommodating yourself to their level in order to instruct them about what God has communicated to you…
