Dear Parents,
During this holiday season it has been a joy to witness even more of the Lasallian spirit in our students and in our community. This time of year brings out the spirit of giving and supporting those less fortunate than us. The spirit of giving and support of our students was evident in the generous donations from our community to our school at our Annual Archangel's Gala which was held this past weekend. The purpose of the gala was to help raise money for tuition assistance and scholarships to help ensure that finances aren’t a barrier to students being able to attend our school. We are extremely grateful to our community coming together for both our current and future students.
As this first semester comes to an end, it has been such a joy to witness our five Lasallian Core Principles in action throughout our school and the entire St. Michael’s community. God’s presence is clearly evident in the spirit of our school. Acts of kindness are consistently taking place throughout the school day. Respect for, and inclusion of others is being demonstrated both on and off campus through our daily interactions. Quality teaching and learning is taking place in the classroom. Care and concern for those less fortunate is evident through service learning projects, community outreach, and community support. Our students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and community at large embody the Lasallian spirit and what St. Michael’s High School is truly all about. We cannot thank you enough for all that you do for our students and our school. They demonstrate so many wonderful qualities because of you.
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of St. Michael’s High School, I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! During the Christmas break, we ask that our students stay safe and make good choices. Semester grades will be available on OnBoard January 6th. We look forward to seeing our students back on campus on January 5th and are excited for what the new year will bring.
Holiday blessings to all our families and thank you again for all your support. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

Morning Advent Prayer Service
… every morning of advent we have been gathering around 8:05am in our school chapel to pray and start the day with God. It has been a blessing to spend time in prayer together. We invite the school to join us each morning next week.
Brothers’ Luncheon
…On Tuesday and Wednesday our Christian Brothers invited some of our Seniors and Juniors to join them for lunch. It was a lovely way to show appreciation and community with our students and the Brothers who gave their lives to the Lasallian Mission.

2025 Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Coach Joey Fernandez for being named the 2025 New Mexico High School Football Coach of the Year, an honor reserved for the best coach in the state regardless of class.
Fernandez guided St. Michael’s to a 13-0 season, a third straight 3A state championship, and extended the team's 33-game win streak, the longest active run in New Mexico. This year’s title marks the school’s eighth state championship, tying them for 10th all-time in New Mexico history, and their 17th appearance in a championship game.
For Coach Fernandez, it represents his sixth state championship as a head coach. His 217 career wins (217–71) rank fourth in New Mexico history, trailing retired coaching legends Eric Roanhaus (343), Bill Gentry (245), and Cooper Henderson (238). That makes Coach Fernandez the winningest active head coach in the state.
