December 13th, 2024
Dear Parents,
During this holiday season it has been a joy to witness even more of the Lasallian spirit in our students and in our community. Our students are demonstrating our Lasallian Core Principles in action through everyday behaviors and service projects. This time of year brings out the spirit of giving and supporting those less fortunate than us. Our toy and book drive was very successful. Many children living in shelters will be receiving books and stuffed animals. The spirit of giving and support of our students was evident in the generous donations from our community.
Our Drumline had a wonderful performance at school on Wednesday and our guitar program had their own amazing performance on Thursday. It is very cool to see all their hard work culminate with these beautiful concerts.
Final exams are next week and the link to the final exam schedule is below under the Academics section. We ask that all students take their final exams seriously and do their absolute best. It is also imperative that students arrive on time to take their finals. Please help ensure that students are picked up after their last final exam each day. Semester grades will be available on OnBoard January 7th.
I am so proud of our students and all that they have accomplished this semester. Our students and our school are so successful because of you. Thank you for all your support and for allowing us to educate your amazing children. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

Application Deadline: January 10, 2025
Application Deadline: January 10, 2025
Finals Week (December 16th - December 20th), please continue to monitor your student grades on OnBoard.
Parents, please remember that grades will not be visible in Onboard beginning Monday, December 16th during 6th period. Semester 1 Report Cards will be posted no later than January 9, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
We understand that this can be a stressful time for you as parents as you help prepare your student(s) mentally and emotionally before finals, because it is an extremely stressful and overwhelming time for the students.
As a faculty and staff, we are working hard at trying to ease the stress for our students through guidance and advice on preparing and studying for each final.
Through this effort, we humbly ask that you continue to provide our teachers with grace and patience, as they are creating final exams for several different classes and executing their due diligence in helping each and every student prepare for finals.
Don’t forget about our great tutoring resource:
Our National Honor Society students have committed themselves to tutoring other students who may need extra support in some of their classes.
Please contact the National Honor Society's Moderator, Ms. Aida Martinez at amartinezsuarez@smhs.me for more information.

Let us remember...
In the words of the Founder:
"The shepherds, says the Gospel, made haste to go to Bethlehem, where they found Mary and Joseph, and the Infant lying in a manger. On seeing Him they recognized what had been told to them, and then went back glorifying the Lord for all that they had seen and heard. . . Nothing draws our souls to God more strongly than the poor and humble condition of those who wish to lead us to Him.”
Meditation by St. John Baptist de La Salle for the Feast of the Nativity of Jesus
What a remarkable thing it is that God chose the poor and humble shepherds to be Christ's first witnesses and earthly messengers. This Christmas, spend a little time recalling and sharing in the shepherds' humility, awe, and joy.
Wishing everyone in the St. Mike's family a safe, blessed and joyous Christmas holiday!
Live Jesus in our hearts. . .
