SMHS Weekly Newsletter
March 7, 2025
March 7, 2025
Dear Parents,
We began the season of Lent with mass on Ash Wednesday offering an opportunity to reflect and deepen our relationship with God. The importance of sacrifice and service are evident in our mission and who we are as a Lasallian Catholic community.
The 2025-2026 Course Catalog will be published by end of day Monday and available on our website under the Academics tab then Curriculum tab. The course catalog will also be provided to all students via Google Classroom. We encourage you to review the course catalog with your child to help them be prepared to select the appropriate core courses and desired elective courses on March 17. We will be providing course selection support on that day as well.
March 14 marks the midway point of the second semester. Please review your child’s progress report in OnBoard which will be posted no later than March 20th. You will see where your child stands academically in each class percentage wise. Missing assignments continue to negatively impact student grades. Please consistently check OnBoard to ensure your child is completing all their work.
We are continuing to operate without bells due to our old intercom system no longer working and needing to be replaced. We are in the process of replacing our intercom system which is a time consuming process. The new system should be installed and operational by spring break. Students are doing great getting to classes on time without bells, and morning and afternoon prayers are being conducted in the classrooms. Announcements are being communicated by teachers in the classrooms as well as through Google Classroom, and ‘all calls’ are able to be made throughout the whole school via the intercom feature of our phone system.
Please come out and cheer on our girls and boys basketball teams as they begin state competition this weekend. Our girls play Friday at 6:00 vs. Navajo Prep at Navajo Prep. Our boys play at home on Saturday vs. Santa Fe Prep at 5:00. Just a reminder that tickets are sold digitally on GoFan.Co, and there will be no cash transactions or ticket sales at the door. Tickets are $12 (Linked Here) for purchase.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, coaches, and all our academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

A Lenten Invitation from the Christian Brothers Institute:
Lent is a time of reflection, renewal, and preparation for the joy of Easter. As we walk this path together, we welcome you to share your prayer intentions with us. Whether in gratitude, remembrance, hope, or need, your prayers will be remembered by the Provincialate Community and the Holy Family Community at Mont La Salle throughout this sacred season. May this Lenten season bring you peace, and may Easter’s promise of renewal and light fill your heart with hope. You may share your prayers here: https://lcbfoundation.org/lent/
