Shaya grew up in Ilek-Vad, but upon entering the clergy of Tamash, made Celephais her home. She is curious and greedy for knowledge, especially books she has not seen before. She came to Freeport to do research in the famous library of the temple of Nasht. Once here, she became involved in the events of the Freeport Trilogy, and acquired some fame when she received the Order of Drac. She is now planning to set up shop as a loremaster and enchanter. She is working on a treatise about evil cult magics and how to combat them.
