Church bells to welcome new resident (1909)

Extract from Parish magazine of October 1909:

Mr. and Mrs. Brocklebank hope to come into residence at the Place before the end of the month. We will set the Church bells ringing and give them a hearty welcome when they come. We are allowed to say that the farm has been let to Mr. Chambers, of Mereworth, and that a clause in the lease ensures the use of the Park to the Cricket Club in the future as in the past, by the kind forethought of Mr. Brocklebank. At Mr. Brocklebank's request, the Bishop of the Diocese has consented lo license the Vicar as Honorary Domestic Chaplain to the Place.
