The village Coronation Festivities of 1911 for King George V were reported by the Parish Magazine of August 1911 in somewhat more abbreviated fashion than the festivities of 1902 for King Edward VII.

A Coronation Fete for the villages of Wateringbury and Nettlestead combined was held on Saturday, July 1st, in the Hoy Meadow, kindly lent by Mr. Leney. A procession left the Schools at 2.30, headed by the Snodland Brass Band, for the ground. The Children's Sports commenced 3 o'clock, after which the adults had dinner and the children tea in Mr. Leney's malt houses. Sports for adults followed and then dancing until 9.30, when a display of fireworks and the playing of "God Save the King " brought the day's proceedings to an end. Coronation mugs, given by ladies of of the village, were used for the children's tea, and were afterwards presented to the children as keepsakes.

Mr. Blest and the Committee, of which he was Chairman, are to be congratulated on a very successful entertainment, and thanks are also due to those ladies who assisted at the dinner and tea, and to trie School Staff and the Sports Committee for superintending the sports.
