Vengeance in Freeport is available through RPG Now.
I was a proofreader for this adventure, but not all my suggestions were implemented. Also, I did not see the final draft until it was released, so many of these comments are new to that version.
Cover page: Per page 3 (and the RPG Now product page), this adventure is for levels 7 to 9 (not 6 to 7).
Throughout Parts I-III (pp. 4-19): In 3.5 usage, class name abbreviations are only used in spell descriptions.
p. 3, Adventure Levels: In the 4th bullet item, should Rask add rogue levels, as written? (He's a sorcerer.)
p. 3, About the Author: Italicize book titles. Delete the paragraph break after "pen".
pp. 4-5, Development: "Eyewitness" is one word (appears once in 1st paragraph, twice in 4th). If the PCs heal the eyewitness, then they should be able to get his testimony without needing Gwendolyn to relay it. (In fact, they may be the ones that bring it to her attention.)
p. 9, The Hungry Vulture [map]: The main text does not follow the map's numbering. The stairs between floors do not match up.
p. 11, Home of Parnass the Evoker [map]: Where exactly in the basement does the trap door lead?
p. 20, Visiting Rentak's: The weight of the bombs is mentioned here, but never given anywhere in the adventure.
p. 21, Fire Bombs: In the trap stat block, the cost has been multiplied by five from the DMG formulas, presumably to represent the five-fold increase in power granted by the black powder. The CR should be 8 (base 1 for magical trap, plus [average damage 52.5]/7), before any adjustment for the increased effect. The extra damage alone puts this trap far above any CR the party could normally handle.
p. 23, Fiendish monstrous centipede, gigantic: The d20 core rules are unclear about whether to add feats to a normally mindless creature that is given an Int score by a template. The Fiendish Creature entry in the MM specifically says to not change skill points even when changing type, so I’d be inclined to not change feats, either. [If feats are deleted, drop natural armor to +10, for AC 18, flat-footed 16; drop Atk/Full Atk to +11; delete Listen; drop Spot to +4; and drop the poison save DC to 17.]
p. 24, Orc Soldier: Under Skills, insert "Includes" before "Armor check penalty".
pp. 25-26, Prolk: Judging from his domains, favored weapon, and alignment, Prolk serves the God of Pirates (see Freeport: The City of Adventure).
p. 26, Zelkema: Under Tactics, "If a melee foes…" should be "If a melee goes…".
