Throughout
Many stat blocks in this adventure use two lines for AC, even when one is more than sufficient. Several stat blocks start the Possessions entry with "combat gear plus" even though they have no Combat Gear entry.
Introduction (p. 2)
In the second paragraph, insert "the" before "next iteration".
p. 2, Important Assumptions: Character levels are given here (7-9), but not party size (four to six, per the back cover).
p. 2, Adventure Background: Except for Captain Lydon (on p. 27), the new councilors are never named; presumably these details are left up to the DM, or will be given in the setting relaunch. Also, A Sea Lord Raised, p. 56, suggests that an enterprising PC may qualify.
The recent composition of the Captains Council is as follows (following the order given in Madness in Freeport):
Sea Lord: Milton Drac (dies at end of Madness); vacant during Succession Crisis; Marilise Maeorgan (end of Crisis).
1. Verlaine (leader of Council until death in Terror); Lydon (by time of Crisis).
2. Brock Wallace (imposter Gorn dies at end of Madness); Buster Wallace (retires during Crisis); vacant at end of Crisis.
3. Arias Soderheim (dies/exiled at end of Crisis); now vacant.
4. Melkior Maeorgan (dies at end of Madness); Marilise Maeorgan (becomes Sea Lady at end of Crisis); vacant at end of Crisis.
5. Garth Varellion.
6. Hector Torian.
7. Elise Grossette (likely de facto leader after Verlaine and Drac's deaths; dies/retires during Crisis); vacant at end of Crisis.
8. Dirwin Arnig.
9. Privateer Seat: Xavier Gordon (limited term extended during Black Sails); now vacant, or due to be.
10. Liam Blackhammer.
11. Sister Gwendolyn.
12. Marcus Roberts.
This leaves five vacancies at the end of Crisis in Freeport (the number of new councilors mentioned on p. 2). Petra Fricke was a rival to Lydon for Verlaine's vacant seat (per Freeport: The City of Adventure), but apparently lost, and is not mentioned in Crisis. Stat blocks for these characters can be found in Freeport: The City of Adventure; most were updated to v.3.5 in The Freeport Trilogy: 5-Year Anniversary Edition.
[The Pirate's Guide to Freeport, set five years after the Succession Riots, gives the details of the Council's composition during that time.]
Part I: Blood in the Streets (p. 4)
pp. 6-7, Crowds: In the Size and Type table. "Mob Size" should be "Crowd Size". Under Abilities, a base creature with Int less than 4 should keep its unmodified Int score.
p. 7, C.Q. Calame: This stat block refers to a sidebar for the Razor Tongue and Scoundrel's Luck feats, but this is missing. These feats appear in Freeport: The City of Adventure (p. 126):
Razor Tongue (General)
Your quick wit and cruel tongue make you a terrifying verbal opponent.
Prerequisite: Skill Focus (Intimidate).
Benefit: Add your Intelligence bonus to Intimidate checks.
Scoundrel's Luck (General)
Your good fortune is only exceeded by your roguish charm.
Prerequisite: Nonlawful alignment, Charisma 15+.
Benefit: Apply your Charisma modifier instead of Dexterity modifier to Reflex saves.
pp. 8-9, Commissioner Williams's Untimely Demise: If the party fights the mob, use the stats for the Crowd of Angry Citizens on pp. 7-8.
p. 10, Lexi: In her spell list, only spell names should be italicized.
pp. 10-11, Caught in the Crossfire: No explanation is given for why Janis Hawthorne and Saul Hawthorne share the same surname.
pp. 11-12, Shark, Ahoy!: Italicize "Menagerie". The crowds' "26 hp each" suggests that both have been seriously injured by the bulette before the party arrives. In Sarien's stat block, the second and third Melee lines should be a single entry.
p. 12, Bloody Jack: His stat block lacks a Combat Gear entry, so delete "combat gear plus" from Possessions.
pp. 12-13, The Sea God's Shrine: "Lorelee" should be "Lorilee" in her stat block. Under Tactics, the Cutthroats are warriors and a fighter, so do not gain sneak attacks.
p. 16, The Warehouse District: In the second paragraph, "hold" should be "hole".
Part II: To the Rescue (p. 17)
pp. 20-22, Bloody Tide: In the first sentence, change "creating" to "created". Slayer's stat block has no Combat Gear entry, so delete "combat gear plus" from Possessions.
p. 24, 2. Forecastle: The "Pirates" line under Creatures should be in a gray-shaded box (as in Area 4 on the same page).
pp. 24-25, 4. Forecabin: The succubus has no Combat Gear entry, so delete "combat gear plus" from Possessions.
pp. 25-27, 5. Quartermaster's Cabin: Fat Jim has no Combat Gear entry, so delete "combat gear plus" from Possessions.
p. 27, 7. Lower Deck: Note that Lydon is mentioned here as a Councilor, but not elsewhere.
Part III: Windward Isle (p. 29)
Felix's race is never given in Freeport: The City of Adventure or Crisis. Given the illustration on p. 31, and the fact that his race is never given, he is almost certainly human.
p. 31, [illustration]: This picture shows human ghouls, not serpent people dread ghouls.
pp. 34-35, 2. Dining Hall: Under Tactics, italicize "wand of magic missiles".
p. 35, 4. Elite Private Rooms: Change "comf0rtable" to "comfortable".
p. 37, 10. Felix's Quarters: "15o pp" should be "150 pp".
p. 39, 5. Linen Closet: Felix's lover, Mandi, is a halfling, but Felix's race is never mentioned. His race is not given in Freeport: The City of Adventure (p. 19), either (but most likely human?).
pp. 40-42, Allethra Sharpe: In the second paragraph, "C0dy" should be "Cody". Under Tactics, italicize the potion names.
p. 41, Privateer FP Pistol: Under Weak Charge, "n0" should be "no".
Part IV: Endgame (p. 43)
pp. 44-45, Assassination Attempt: See notes to p. 2 about the Council members.
pp. 46-52, Shattered Serenity: If the party returned Lexi to the House of Serenity in Part I, she will likely be somewhere in the brothel, cowering with the other employees.
pp. 47-48, 3. Snake Weed Den: The number of soldiers is not given. Based on the EL, there are probably three here ([CR 4, -1 for intoxication,=CR 3] x 3=EL 6).
p. 50, Dan Marsh: Marsh's stat block has no Combat Gear entry, so delete "combat gear plus" from Possessions.
p. 51, 9. Large Rooms: Rooms 9E and 9H are EL 9, same as Room 8.
pp. 51-52, 10. Mid-Sized Rooms: Add either "(Varies)" or "(EL 10+)" after "Mid-Sized Rooms". The EL of any fight with Soderheim will depend on how many soldiers from other rooms accompany him.
p. 52, 11. Small Rooms: See Freeport: The City of Adventure, p. 82, about Sylvia Rathrow. (Her stats there consist solely of "female human Com[moner] 3, hp 8".)
p. 52, 13. Third Floor Foyer: Add "(EL 9)", as per Room 8.
p. 53, Interviewing the Gunners: Add closing quotes to the end of the last bullet item.
pp. 54-55, Later That Night...: Italicize "planar ally", "locate creature", and (in the main text under Tactics) "plane shift". See note to pp. 10-11 about the other Hawthorne.
Appendix I: Pregenerated Characters (p. 57)
p. 57, Rollo: The second and third Melee lines should be a single entry.
p. 58, Thorgrim: In previous Freeport adventures, Thorgrim was a cleric of the God of Valor. His domains remain unchanged.
Appendix II: The Corsair (p. 59)
No notes.
Appendix III: Player Handouts (p. 62)
p. 62, Captain Sharpe's Journal: The journal calls Soderheim a human, but he is a half-elf (see p. 51). Sharpe's racism likely extends to half-humans as well.
Open Gaming License (p. 63)
The header should say "Open Game License", as the main text does. Under 15. Copyright Notice, the SRD entry is given twice.
