[Credits (p. 1)]
Several members of the Ronin Army forums contributed errata when the first version of the PDF was released to pre-orders: Althea Farseer, Chael, Daniel, darthbdaman, Kot the Protector, Lazeryth, mdltree, rulandor, and timemrick. Some of this feedback was incorporated into the First Printing, so has not been copied here. Where changes were not made, I have quoted those forum members' comments below, with due credit.
Table of Contents (p. 2)
"Basic NPCss" (p. 100) should be "Basic NPCs".
Introduction (p. 3)
No notes.
Chapter 1: Races & Backgrounds (p. 5)
pp. 14-15, Backgrounds [tables]:
On page 14, there are backgrounds like Artisan that have a focus option of: "Communication (Bargaining) or your choice of Dexterity (Crafting) or Intelligence (Brewing)." My understanding is that you only pick one focus from the list so why use the phrase “or your choice of” after the first focus option? Why not just word it like so: "Communication (Bargaining), Dexterity (Crafting) or Intelligence (Brewing)." Or even like so: Your choice of Communication (Bargaining), Dexterity (Crafting) or Intelligence (Brewing)." [gabeprime, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/6/2018]
Chapter 2: New Talents & Specializations (p. 20)
p. 21, Firearms Style:
I'm not sure if it is really an error, but I think that the Novice level of "Firearms Style" (p. 21) is in some way redundant with the level 5 class power "take aim" of the rogue (core rule book, p. 23). That seems to be a contradiction to the "avoid redundancy" advice on p. 20. Is this intended, or do I miss a certain point here? I think, the rule text would benefit from a little bit of clarification. [Aetherstorm, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/4/2018]
p. 22, Performance:
Master level: "You may perform the With a Flourish exploration stunt while entertaining an audience for 3 SP instead of its usual cost of 5,[...]" The core handbook says usual cost for WaF is 4. [Lazeryth, “Re: Companion errata,”
Ronin Army forums, 3/25/2018]
p. 24, Delver:
On p. 24 under the Delver specialization the Resources at Hand Stunt is said to be a roleplaying stunt. It is an exploration stunt. [rulandor, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/6/2018]
p. 25, Gangster:
In the Novice degree of the Gangster specialization, it claims that "You can perform the Taunt or Threaten stunts for 1 SP instead of their usual cost of 2 SP." It may be good to look at this again and specify if it means you have to pick one to discount, or if both are discounted. [Kot the Protector, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/2/2018]
p. 27, Marked Talent: Capitalize the "you" immediately after "Fishmark" and "Spidermark".
Chapter 3: Magic (p. 32)
pp. 34-35: Earth Arcana:
The Quagmire, Shape Earth, and Earth Passage spells use feet instead of yards to calculate distance and volume. This may end up a tad confusing with most measurements in Fantasy AGE being in yards. [Kot the Protector, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/2/2018]
p. 35, Quagmire: "10 square feet" does not equal "a 10-foot square". The latter is probably meant in both instances.
pp. 34-35, Shape Earth: The second paragraph has an error in the sentence about affecting additional area. The text adapts the Shift Earth arcanum from Blue Rose without incorporating the errata. (See note for p. 98 here: https://sites.google.com/site/timserrataarchive/home/age-errata/blue-rose-second-edition ) Replace the second sentence with: "Expanding the size of this square by 150-feet both in length and in width increases the TN and MP Cost by an additional +2. This can create a square of up to 900 feet on a side, at TN 21 and costing 18 MP."
p. 38, Lightning Flash:
“...or be blinded for rounds equal to your Lightning Arcana degree.” What the heck does this mean? How many rounds exactly is Novice or Journeyman anyway? [NinjaMonkey, “Lightning Flash,” Ronin Army forums, 3/29/2018]
They probably mean one round for Novice degree, two rounds for Journeyman degree, and three rounds for Master degree. I think it could be worded more like: "equal to the number of degrees you have taken in the Lightning Arcana." [Kot the Protctor, “Re: Lightning Flash,” Ronin Army forums, 3/29/2018]
p. 41, Water Form: Delete the space before the final period.
pp. 46-47, Steal Life: Fantasy AGE does not have any formal aging rules, which will require GMs to make their own ruling on the lifespan-extending use of this spell.
In the fourth paragraph, change "remove disability" to "rejuvenate body" (p. 37). This spells' name was changed between the draft against the First Printing.
p. 49, Illusory Guise: "of roughly (+/-20%) of their size" should be "within roughly +/-20% of their original size". The last paragraph is awkward; try something like this: "At Journeyman degree, this spell can create disguises within roughly +/–50% of the subject’s original size. At Master degree, the spell may change the size by +/–75%, and it can also change how the subject sounds, as well as appears."
Chapter 4: Advanced Rewards (p. 56)
pp. 64-65, Madness: In the last sentence, "situation" should be "situations".
Chapter 5: The World at Large (p. 66)
pp. 67-68, Stages of Battle: The Example Specialist Troops are in italics under Stage 1, but not Stages 2 and 3.
p. 70, Sample Battle Cards: The Opening Moves section of the example's main text states that Gashan has no specialists for that stage, so replace "Light Cavalry" with "None" on his card.
pp. 71-72, Working Out Casualties: There are 137 survivors after subtracting casualties (250-113). Of the 113 casualties, 37 are dead, 76 wounded.
p. 80, Noble House, Major: Under Scope, "National" should be in SMALL CAPS.
Chapter 6: Vehicles, Chases, & Structures (p. 81)
p. 85, Canoe: Delete the "in" after "materials".
p. 85, Rowboat: In the first sentence, "add" should be "adds".
p. 85, Vehicles [table]: The Airship line is missing a tab after "Fast/-1".
pp. 88-89, Method I: Ability Tests: In the second paragraph, the table is in the next column, not "above".
p. 89, Structural Test Damage Modifiers [table]:
In the table "Structural Test Damage Modifiers" on page 89, the first four modifiers seem to be backwards. It lists that the TN goes down if the creature is smaller than the structure, and the TN goes up if they are larger than it. The plus and minus signs probably just need switching. [Kot the Protector, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/2/2018]
p. 90, Structure Health & Armor: The Structural Rating entries for Rare Materials and No PSecvial Design or Defenses should not end in periods.
Chapter 7: Supporting Cast (p. 91)
pp. 105-113, New Adversaries & Other NPCs: Under Abilities (Focuses), do not put the focus in bold text. (Several of these NPCs have their Intelligence focuses in bold.)
p. 105, New Adversaries & Other NPCs: The third paragraph explains a "+3" notation for focuses, but no NPCs in this section have any such notation.
p. 111, Infernal Sorcerer [stat block]: Under Talents, insert a comma after "Death Arcana (Journeyman)". It looks like the Demon of Vengeance ability was moved out of alphabetical order during layout; the "below" reference might be confusing, as that ability is technically lower down on the page, but comes first in the text.
p. 113, Soldier; and p. 113, Tribal Warrior:
Soldier and Tribal Warrior have HP that isn't a multiple of 5 (32 and 34 respectively). Out of the 132 adversaries I have cataloged so far, only 2 others had HP that are not multiples of 5: "Weasel" (12 HP) from the FAGE Bestiary [and] "Fist of Arminar" (38 HP) from Children's Crusade. [mdlthree, “Re: Companion errata,” Ronin Army forums, 3/4/2018]
p. 113, Tribal Warrior: In the last sentence of the first paragraph, "working as a scouts" should be "working as scouts".
Chapter 8: Play Options (p. 113)
pp. 118-119, Mobs & Minions: The One Hit, One Kill option should appear at the end of Minions, not at the end of Mobs.
