Robb Swift
Robb's 2011 Autobiography
After high school I went to work at Sikorsky Air Craft in Stratford, CT. Spending a little over a year there I knew this is not what I wanted to do. In 1962 I went to work for the Town of Westport D.P.W. I enjoyed the out door work (except for the winters). In 1967 I married and bought my first house in Westport. In 1969, 9 days after Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, my first daughter was born (Kelley). In 1972 I was blessed with a second daughter (Megan). As a young family I knew that a part time job was a must so I started a driveway maintenance business. In 1982 I moved to Fairfield, bought a large colonial house, and over the next 5 yrs I remodeled a large part of it. In 1986 I took an early retirement from the D.P.W. I purchased a business and was quite successful with it. By 1992 The kids were thru college and hair dressing school so we decided to move to S.W. Florida. We proceeded to build our second home down there in 1998. I then started to buy and sell a few homes, as playing golf 5-6 days a week was getting boring (believe it or not). Around 2008 I ran into some personal problems (divorce etc.) and decided it was time to move back to CT. As both my daughters had purchased homes in Fairfield, I felt at this time of my life I would enjoy being close to my daughters and grandchildren. I now have settled back in Fairfield and get in a bit of golf again, weather permitting.
