Margaret Parker Golden
Margaret's 2011 Autobiography
Happy 50th Class of ’61! After graduating from Staples, I went to the University of Bridgeport and became a teacher. I got married in 1965 to a wonderful man, who hailed from Fairfield. In 1969, I had my first daughter, Michelle and in 1972, my second daughter, Danielle was born. I brought up my family in Orange, CT and resided there for 35 years. After the girls grew up, I returned to work with my husband in our family owned printing business. We retired in 2008, and moved to Houston, TX to live closer to my oldest daughter and her family. I am enjoying my retirement and the times I am spending with my two lovely grandchildren, Parker and Griffin. In 2009, my husband was in need of a kidney transplant, and I was a match and able to give him one of mine. Although a stressful time for me and my family, the surgery went flawlessly and all are doing very well. It is coming to our 2nd year transplant anniversary and we can’t be happier with the results.
