Roy’s 2021 Autobiography
I enlisted in the United States Air Force November 1961 through November 1965. Basic Training and Inv. Mgmt. school Texas. Assigned, May 1962 McClellan AFB Sacramento, California for the remaining 3.5 years. Far East Taiwan 90 day aircraft support activities.
February 1966 started my career at Perkin Elmer Corporation Norwalk, Ct., Electro Optical & Optical Technology Divisions. I was briefly briefly assigned as a field representative for Perkin Elmer in 1967-68 in support of sensitive Electro Optical equipment on aircraft out of Burbank California. I lived in Santa Monica during that assignment, while traveling to Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan.
Upon completion of that project, I did some sightseeing while driving across the country and was reassigned to our Wilton, CT facility, providing administrative support and coordination of various contractual activities on several government programs, including the Hubble Space Telescope, manufactured in the Danbury, CT. facility and the coating of Hubble's primary mirror in our Optical Operation Division Wilton, CT.
Children came in 1982 & 83, two wonderful and healthy sons: Jim Graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Civil Engineering, established and is Project Manager of the Atlanta GA office for Sherwood Design Engineers; John graduated from the UCONN School of Business and is VP of Really Good Stuff (located in Shelton, CT) a division of the Extelligence Learning Corporation, headquartered in Monterey, CA.
We are enjoying five healthy and active grandchildren and their families more fully since my retirement in 2009. Active in volunteering at St. Vincent's Medical Center for over ten years. Always active in all church activities while our children were growing up and remain active as Financial Secretary for GSLC Monroe,CT.
Very thankful for my healthy life, a wonderful and supportive wife, two exceptional and prosperous sons and our five beautiful grandchildren.
