Linda Mailand Coe
LInda's 2011 Autobiography
First job was as assistant fashion director for Talon zippers. After that I entered into the cosmetic business where I was the Beauty director of various cosmetic companies. This was all in New York City. In 1974 I married Edward Coe and in December of 1975 I had my first son Blake, and retired from the cosmetic business to become a full time mother. In 1979 my second son Jordan was born , and 1982 I had a third son Taylor . I live in Lake Forest, Illinois . I have spent many years volunteering for Learning Disabilities. I have just become a first time grandmother--six weeks ago -- to Beckett Edward Coe. I visit Westport every summer and fall. My heart is still there. I'm not a Midwesterner.
Linda’s Update (2021)
As for an update, I am still going along in a happy and healthy manner and my third son is getting married in July, so we have another joyful day to look forward to. Our plan is to eventually move back to Westport, and that should be fabulous for my husband Ed and myself because our eldest son Blake now happily lives there with his family. He loves Westport and his 3 sons are 9,7,3 and they are enjoying all the schools that our 1961 graduating class attended. I find that amazing since all three of our sons were raised in the mid-west (Lake Forest, IL.) All of my 3 sons consider Westport their second home, and my husband and I still love Westport. I have an eastern heart more than a midwestern heart.
To give you a sad update my dear friend Sue Hoppe (Jackson) passed away about 3 years ago from Cancer. Sue was always an uplifting and wonderful friend who had a wonderful heart and great sense of humor. She did attend the 50th year reunion and I am sure she will be remembered very fondly by our classmates.
