Patricia Cummings LoGuidice
Patsy's 2011 Autobiography
After leaving Westport in 62 moved to New Your City. I attended the university of Greenwich Village. where I majored in the arts. I supported myself as a waitress working the cafes that Bob Dylan was singing in and art bars. Saved up enough money to spend a year in Europe and North Africa. Started a moroccan export business and designed and imported ethnic jewelry and moroccan rugs. I discovered photography was my best form of communication. Spent many months in Haiti and did a book with Katharine Dunham on dances of Haiti and voodoo culture. Also filmed many voodoo ceremonies there during the late 60's. In 1972 I met the love of my life, my husband Joe LoGiudice. He was one of the most innovative art dealers in the country and opened one of the first important galleries in Soho. We had an amazing life together in the art world, traveled the world. In 1973 we found Zihuatanejo Mexico and fell in love with the place and bought land there and built a home. In 1980 we opened a large restaurant/bar which I ran for 30 years. I have just retired from the restaurant. I got bored for a year not working so I've just opened a cooking school in Zihuatanejo. I spend most of my time between Los angeles and Zihuatanejo. My husband Joe passed away a few years ago. I'm still enjoying life and remain foolishly optimistic that it gets even better.
