KItsy's 2100 Autobiography
Dear Classmates,
It's hard to believe that it's been 50 years have passed since our graduation from Staples.
My Life in a Nutshell:
After Staples I attended Vermont College for a year and a half. (I had wanted to go into the Peace Corp before college, which did not sit well with my mom so Vermont was my destination.) Shortly after leaving VT I moved to NYC with a good friend from college and we both found jobs at The New Yorker magazine. During this time in the city we both fell in love with our future spouses, got married and moved out to the suburbs.
I married George Scott '59 and we moved to New Haven where he completed his last year at Yale Law School. Upon graduation he was hired by a Greenwich law firm and we moved to Riverside where we have lived in a big old house for the past 40 years.
We raised 3 great children; George (Bainbridge Island, WA), Kate (No. Andover, MA) and Sam (Brooklyn) and are now enjoying our 4 wonderful grandchildren ages 4-13, who give us great joy. Many years ago when our kids were living in different parts of the country we decided that we would meet once a year in the summer and chose Block Island. We rent a house there every July and it's a time for all of us to bike, swim, hike, read, and just hang out. It's the one time a year that the grand kids from WA and MA get together so it is very special.
George and I are both still working; he has his own law practice and I am an elementary school administrative assistant (just like Mrs. Espenschied at Greenwich Farms!) and we are planning to retire to Sarasota when the time is right, which I hope is sooner than later. I have been most fortunate during these past 50 years, and look forward to seeing everyone at our reunion and sharing old times.
