Vampires

Maricopa County sits at the crossroads of the vampire world. Firmly within control of the Camarilla, to the South it faces the strongholds of the Sabbat, while directly West are the Anarch Free States.

The City of Phoenix and Maricopa county combine to make Phoenix the 3rd largest city in the country, tying with Chicago but behind New York and Los Angeles. Cheap land, few regulations, and business friendly taxes have lured a number of businesses and affordable housing ensure a steady supply of both blue and white collar workers.

The city is quickly growing, and with the growing population both the Anarch’s and the Sabbat have sent infiltrators to establish a presence in the city, gathering intelligence and carrying out acts of sabotage while trying to recruit assets both mortal and kindred.

For the vampires of Phoenix, an existence of fear and paranoia has been supercharged by a game of espionage. The Sheriff might enforce the Traditions but the Scourge has become a counter-intelligence officer, tracking down Anarch and Sabbat spies and working to expose networks which funnel information and assets back-and-forth from the West and South.

And within this game of espionage is the acknowledgement on all sides that the Kindred do not possess the power, influence, or numbers to defend themselves from the Traditions should war break out between the two groups. Neither Phoenix Rising nor Serenity Valley will take time to distinguish whether a vampire is allied with the Sabbat, Camarilla, or Anarchs, giving all three factions a vested interest in prevent open violence from breaking out and consuming the city.

But this same paranoia can easily sweep away an individual Mage or Werewolf who makes the mistake of getting to close, or becoming too involved, in the affairs of the vampires.
