Description: Lucia is 5'4" with a runners body and smooth hands of an academic. Coming from a family of blue collar workers, she's often embarrassed by her hands. She's friendly and outgoing when she needs to be, and is always described as a team player who gets along easily with others. However, she doesn't often socialize, preferring to hide away with a book and a drink. When she gets angry, he accent can thicken slightly, though she spokes most languages like a native born.

History: Lucia has a gift for languages, something she discovered in life after her parents brought her to the United States from Mexico. She loves learning to communicate with others, immersing herself in different cultures and experiences. She had a dream of working for the State Department and seeing the world. After she graduated from college she learned that an arrest for a small amount of marijuana when she was 17 meant she would never be hired. Her dreams dashed in a single youthful mistake.

Lucia got a job in the corporate world where she made a lot of money, but the job was unfulfilling. She often found herself on the wrong side of history, working to destroy the very cultures she valued. It was while working in the Iraqi Green Zone that a number of Ancient Babylonian antiquities came into her possession. Fascinated by the writing, she spent the next year learning and mastering the language of the Babylonian Empire so she could discover what was inscribed on the statue.

Her efforts brought her to the attention of the Arcanum, who needed someone who could work with academics from different cultures and help with translating. The money isn't as good, but Lucia jumped at the opportunity to do work that wouldn't dirty her soul. She is still haunted by some of the things she learned from her former corporate masters.

Drive: Lucia doesn't want to sit behind a desk; she wants go out into the world and have adventures. Her value to the Arcanum as a translator is huge, but the group realizes they need to keep her happy and invested in the society or they risk losing her. She is often sent out on jobs either alone or as support for more experienced investigators. She collects experiences the way a child might collect baseball cards, taking pictures and souvenirs along the way as mementos of her experiences.

Problem: Lucia is haunted. When she's awake she is often drinking or wondering when her next drink will come. When she's asleep nightmares stalk her of a little girl running through the ruins of Baghdad. Lucia refuses to discuss what happened with others, and the consequence is it's consuming her.
