Agenda - Decisions and Action Items

New President Appointment

After many years of service Tara is standing down as President of Wavemakers. Jon Brown is proposed to take over Shereen nominated and Rob seconded this motion. Unanimous vote for Jon to take over Presidency. Huge thank you to Tara and we will arrange a farewell get together over summer.

Jon will work on the agenda for August meeting.

By-Law Information

Shereen and Dean distributed the By-Laws for the booster club.

There needs to be a dedicated Representative for the boys, girls and synchro teams to attend all future Wavemakers meetings. Shereen will follow up with the coaches on this. This is Jenette’s last meeting as her daughter is a senior.

Old Business

Video Equipment Project

Update from Dean - Everything is up and running, feedback has been great. Only slight negative is that the TV is small. It is a 32”. At some point maybe we can look at getting a larger one donated if anyone is upgrading their home systems. The synchro team are using the video and with the exception of the water changing color on playback it is a great success. The running of the camera etc could be a manager job for the girls and boys teams going forwards, synchro has no manager.

Website

Annika has improved and updated the Wavemakers website for her NHS hours. She would like headshots of the committee members to include on there. Many thanks to Annika for her hard work on this!

Meet Software

Version 8.1 is available and should be purchased and downloaded for the start of girls season. Ideally there would be a laptop for coaches to run meets and also one for timing. Motion to keep the laptop purchased for the original setup of video equipment, repurposed for meet timing. This motion was passed.

Upto $600 approved for purchase of the license for the meet software. Jim will contact Mike Hennon to see if the school can purchase this as without it we cannot run a school meet. It is hoped that the school can purchase the license but we have the back up of funds approved if not.

Synchro Update

End of season show was a success. All the ducks from the ‘chuck a duck’ were used, which is a first! In August meeting we can look at whether we need to purchase new ducks.

Fundraisers

Epilepsy Clothing Drive

Date for this is June 4 & 5th. Truck will be delivered to the Legion on Friday 3rd. Jon and Shereen to liaise on key collection. Tamara and Hayley can also help with this if needed.
