Wavemakers Meeting - 10/7/19

Meeting officially started at 7:03pm


1. Meet Manager Software Program and Computer

The new computer has been updated and is in Dan Landherr’s possession. The computer is currently being used for the Girls Swim Team home dual meets and operating successfully. Thank you Dan!


2. Wall Banners

New wall banners for Girls Swim and Dive Team awards have officially been installed in the pool area.


3. Discussions have begun regarding Swimming Starting Blocks

  • Rob True has started to gather information regarding bids and estimated installation costs of starting blocks based on previously discussed designs.

  • Mike Hennon is in communication with wavemakers regarding starting blocks.

  • Discussions of proposing advertising options to local businesses and organizations to help fund the blocks have started.

ACTION: More information to come at the next meeting. Many are gathering more information to present at the next meeting.


4. Girls Swim Team Updates

Girls Swim and Dive dual meets are currently running smoothly and the girls are getting ready for their True Team competition approaching next Saturday 10/12.


5. Proposal for Future Wavemaker Fundraising Events

  1. “Swimming with the Rangers” - A swimming event for younger swimmers and friends to come and swim with their favorite Rangers at the pool during a predetermined Saturday or Sunday in December. The intent is for kids to have fun and parents to run some errands or have lunch together. Cost per swimmer is estimated at $10 per child.

ACTION: Tara is gathering information to move forward on this event and will be coordinating this event.

  1. Epilepsy Clothing Collection on same day as Synchro Meet - Proposal for a combined fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation, to collect clothing in the parking lot of the Community Pool, on the same day as the Synchro Show.

ACTION: Brenda will be coordinating this event with the Epilepsy Organization and the Synchro team as well as planning for advertising.

6. Next meeting on Monday, November 4 at 7pm at the Hardwood Creek Library.
