Process for elections:
1. Call for nominations at ETHICOMP (see Nomination form)
2. Collate nominations
3. Contact nominees/members standing for re-election and ask for:
a) acceptance of nomination
b) 1 paragraph blurb on what they will bring to the ETHICOMP steering committee
c) a photograph of themselves (not absolutely necessary, but helpful for voters)
4. Collate list of voters by gaining list of email addresses of attendees of the past 3 ETHICOMPs
5. Create Google Form or similar with the blurbs of the voters & the voting form.
[a) Suggestion for method of voting: "Vote for up to 3 people" question; votes for more than 3 are discounted; more complex methods that are often used are ranked choice, an easy method for which there is http://www.opavote.org/ which is free up to n votes]
6. After an agreed period of time, voting is closed
7. Tally votes
8. Declare new members.
9. Add new members & remove ex-members' rights (i.e. mailing list membership; ability to edit this website, etc.)
