SC is very positive about the online conference and thanks Mario and his team for the excellent organisation!
The videos will be archived until after the summer
Number of comments and suggestions are raised (e.g. concerning Microsoft Teams; abstract vs. key ideas; time zones; flexibility concerning video duration; ...)
Action point SC: send questions for the feedback survey to Mario
Action point Mario: send out feedback survey for attendees, to evaluate the platform, keynotes, video length, comments under videos, communication, and so on. The link to the feedback survey will be sent to all participants at the end of July
3) 2021 conference (30 June - 2 July 2021)
Agreed time schedule:
Call for tracks will be sent out after the conference theme is known, between 21 - 31 July. Deadline for submitting tracks: mid-August
Call for extended abstracts will be sent out end of August - early September. This email preferably also contains an overview of important deadlines. Deadline for submitting extended abstracts: end of October
Action point SC:
-Send ideas for conference theme to Mario before 21 July
Action points Mario:
-Send out email to community to ask them for input about the 2021 conference theme; community has 1 week to respond
-Send the list of 2020 attendees to Andrew
-Update overview of important dates/deadlines on the conference website
4) 2020 ELECTIONS NEW SC MEMBERS => 2021
We already agreed that the elections will be postponed to 2021
List of voters = past 3 ETHICOMP conferences (Leicester / Turin / Tricity Poland) AND the virtual 2020 conference
SC members whose tenure would have ended in 2020 all agree with this extension (=Alexis, Marty, Don, Kai, and Katleen)
Action point Katleen: message to ETHICOMP community in which SC informs them about the postponement of the elections, given the unusual circumstances
5) AOB
-ETHICOMP chair: Catherine and Katleen will decide after the summer, given the unusual corona circumstances
-Website: SC members ask for an archive of the conference websites. This is an important topic (ETHICOMP's archive, incl. proceedings since 1995) that will be addressed after the summer. The topic is also related to increasing ETHICOMP's visibility (website, logo, ...)
-ETHICOMP 2021: question raised whether this will be a face-to-face conference or a hybrid. It will be a face-to-face conference, unless circumstances prevent this. ETHICOMP 2021 dates are also aligned with those of CEPE-IACAP 2021
