ETHICOMP 2021
Papers (Kiyoshi)
86 papers (roughly)
After review process 70% accepted; 4 straight reject, rest asked for changes.
Abstracts with changes due end of the month. Final decision April 5th
3 papers to run a track - tracks without 3 papers were closed and papers moved to the Open Track. Some tracks were combined in discussion with track chairs.

Synchronous/Asynchronous possibility, suggestions welcome for dealing with timezones.
considering author's location
set 3 tranches of times, each reasonable for 2 sets of location of participants. 3 or 4 hour slots, 3 times a day. For the speaker ask them to pick which slot would be reasonable for them, also give option to do both of their timezone slots to give maximum coverage. (Andrew to send suggestions for timezones to Mario after final decision).
Possible idea for a track level synchronous discussion, that synthesises the discussion from asynchronous/synchronous presentations.
Recording of live events - request permission for a) recording, b) sharing on youtube, possibility to keep it to shared zoom recordings. Possibility of discord? high technical barrier of entry.
Social side of ethicomp - mini activities (Alexis), ETHICOMP buddies (Kiyoshi/Mario/Catherine)

Buddies - optional - suggest to people they might want to indicate they're first time ethicompers in the social events by changing their name in some way. Put on post-registration form.

ETHICOMP 2022/3
Possibility of moving next conference forward to establish physical contact with our community post-covid; Turku happy to do this, but complicated to commit to physical conference when things are still all up in the world. If it looks promising by ETHICOMP 2021, we will announce 2022. If not, 2023.
Possibility for workshop instead.
