It is required to record the music in a studio and have it mastered. Each online distribution channel (Apple, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, etc.,) has their own listening standard for recording. It helps to record and master music in a studio to bring the recording to standard. Use wav format for the recordings. Performing someone’s work requires a mechanical license which will need to be obtained. Distrokid handles all of that including the yearly renewals.

Steps forward…
