Jun Bug's November Hash Trash:
The pack gathered at Columbus circle on one of the last nice days of the year, and proceeded to call me on my cell phone because I wasn't there because I was buying a cell phone. Once that was sorted out, we were off. It was a cozy little hash, with Stain, Bug, self, Just Sean and virgins Just Paco and Just Christine, or something to that effect, it's been a while, in attendance.
The pack took off from Columbus circle and ended at Jun Bug's house. This necessitated a break halfway for a rousing rendition of Father Abraham, and once we'd drawn stares from everyone in the park, Stain and I made the executive decision that the hash was going to Rudy's and come hell or high water, so were we. Fortunately Jun Bug kept the virgins in tow waiting for us to come stumbling back defeated before picking up the trail again.
Once at Chez Bug, we Stain and I went exploring, i.e. opened doors that said "Do Not Open, Alarm Will Sound" It didn't, and we found ourselves pounding beers in a shady non-floor of Jun Bug's apartment. I would have said the roof, but since there were tons of people living up there in tarpaper shacks, the phrase doesn't really do it justice. We shouted a few quick ditties down into the Pit of Despair between the two buildings, slammed our beers and were off.
I have no idea what happened after this, because I struck out ahead and got ridiculously lost down near the docks, where a bunch of sailors had just put into port (Old habits...) I imagine the pack had a typically misadventurous hash to Rudy's because that is where I eventually found them, pitcher and dogs ready to go.
After a pitcher or two of the foamy stuff, we snagged a case and headed back to Bug's place and circled up topside. Standing out from the usual bullshit in my memory, Paco's down-down for front-running, nice-making, and all around human excellence in the face of Hashdom's celebration of backbiting, debauched mediocrity took the cake. Also I think we made up a few new bars to the Yogi Bear song, although it's possible we just remembered them. Either way, fun was had. Stay tuned for Cumstain's Hash Trash, somewhere around May.
