For March's Poem of the Month, I have chosen the poem 'The Truth About Its-Own-Ness of Desire' by Dom Sebastian Moore O.S.B.
It is taken from his collection Remembered Bliss.
Dom Sebastian Moore O.S.B passed away February 28th, 2014.
THE TRUTH ABOUT ITS-OWN-NESS OF DESIRE
The truth about its-own-ness of desire
Is both vertical with inspired surrender
And its triangulation our entire
History seeks a supernatural mender.
The instant terror of the Tolle* night
Protracts into terrified history,
The one resolved in the emblissing light,
The other in things hidden, all to be.
The innocent straight line of my desire
Provokes triangulation’s agony
As well as terror instantly entire:
Both ways the freedom wherewith Christ makes free.
Desire is love trying to happen: how?
In terror, whether history or now.
