Follow-up is when consensus is confirmed by opening the feedback loop with all the stakeholders involved throughout the process. It is the make or break of the value of an Improvement Cycle. Follow-up is when you double check and make sure that you achieved all of the rungs in the Data Ladder of Inference, especially Decide. This step is to ensure the decisions do not stay in the meeting, but are now prioritized across teams, sites, and organization by setting expectations and creating accountability for everyone involved. At the end of this step, stakeholders will have a reference point for what they are supposed to do, by when, and with who.
