Use the Announcements tool to read news and information about your courses or other NICC Brightspace information. 

Announcements items appear in the Announcements widget, but through your notification settings, you can also receive instant notifications about postings through email, SMS, and RSS feeds. Visit the Getting Started page to learn how to set up notifications.

Dismiss and Restore Announcements

Note: We do not recommend replying to notifications from Brightspace. All Brightspace notifications are set up to go through our support email address, and instructors will not receive your notification replies. If you need to contact your instructor regarding a notification, you will need to reach out to them directly via their contact information in the syllabus or Getting Started module.

FAQs

Why can't I see an announcement that my instructor previously posted?

It is possible that your instructor set an expiration date for the Announcement. When these dates are met, the Announcement will no longer be available to anyone except for the instructor. Please note that all Announcements should send you a notification via email, so you can look in your NICC Gmail for previous Announcements.

How do I get a text message when my instructor posts an Announcement?

You can sign up for text notifications by clicking on your Brightspace Profile, selecting Notifications, entering your phone number, and then clicking Save. Please note that text messages can be blocked by your cellular provider and text messaging rates may apply.
