When you purchase an Access Code from the NICC Bookstore, there is a chance that you may need to retrieve your Connect Code from Vital Source. If you do have this happen, you will need to do the following to redeem your Connect code:
On the NICC Bookstore website, select the eLibrary link
Alternatively, you can click Access My Textbooks on the Brightspace Homepage and select the eLibrary tab
Find the Connect Code you purchased and select Read Now to take you to VitalSource
Create an account using your NICC email, or you can sign in to your existing account
Clicking the Read Now link should automatically redeem your code for you
If it does not automatically redeem, you can go back to the Bookstore website and select eLibrary or Access My Textbooks in Brightspace and select Read Now
Once the code is redeemed, your McGraw Hill Connect code should appear for you to copy
If it does not appear, select My Library and then click on the McGraw Hill Access Code tile (image) and copy the code
After you have copied your code, go to your course in Brightspace
Select Content from the blue navigation bar
In Content, select one of the McGraw Hill Connect assignment links
Note: These links should say External Learning Tool under them with a 'Lego' brick icon
Click Begin to take you to the McGraw Hill Course
If you do not have an account, use the section on the right of the login screen to create an account using your NICC information
If you have an account, you may sign in or it may automatically log you in
Select the 'X' on the pop-up window that asks you to purchase an access code
Towards the bottom of the page, find the Redeem Access Code box
Paste your access code into the text field and click Redeem
Complete your registration and you should be redirected to the assignment
From there, your code is redeemed and you have access to the course to complete assignments and view your eBook. Before you begin your assignment, you may access your eBook from the Quick Links on the right or by selecting Read Book under the book title.

All McGraw Hill Connect links are added to your course by your instructor. In most cases, your instructor will place these links in the course's Content section. These will be labeled as External Learning Tools with a 'Lego' piece icon. You may also have instructors who place these links in their instructions, and it is important to review these instructions carefully.
If you have any questions about where to find Connect links in your course, please reach out to your instructor.
Ensure you are not using the eLibrary code for your McGraw Hill Connect code
Ensure your Connect code from Vital Source is correct and not missing any characters
If you have the correct code from Vital Source and it is being entered correctly, then the access code may not be activated in McGraw Hill's system. You will need to reach out to either Bookstore Support or McGraw Hill Support to fix or receive a new access code.
