Course Homepage Options
There are several homepage options available to you as an instructor. The various homepage options contain different layouts of the homepage and additional widgets for you and your students to utilize.
Course Homepage Options
Here are several course homepage options that you can select:
Course Homepage (Default Option)
Course Homepage w/ Activity Feed
Includes the Activity Feed widget instead of Announcements.
Course Homepage w/ Activity Feed & Announcements
Includes the Activity Feed widget and Announcements for multiple communication options.
Course Homepage w/ Activity Feed, Welcome Window and Visual Table of Contents
Includes the Activity Feed widget along with the Welcome Window pop-up widget and the Visual Table of Contents.
Course Homepage w/ Instructor Profile
The default course homepage featuring the Announcements widget and an Instructor Profile widget. The Instructor Profile enables your students to see key information about you, including your contact info and an open notes field.
To set the information in your Instructor Profile, click on your name in the top right corner of Brightspace and choose 'Profile'. Enter whatever information you would like, and the information will automatically appear in the widget.

Course homepage that provides quick access to Pearson MyLabs via a link on the homepage.

To set your homepage:
On your Course Homepage, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on the "..." icon
Select ‘Manage Homepages’
Select the homepage you want to use by using the ‘Active Homepage’ dropdown menu
Click Apply to apply that homepage layout to your course
Note: You can change your homepage layout at any time and you will not lose any data.
Welcome Window
The Welcome widget allows a pop-up message to display for all users. Instructors can populate and manage the message text in the Content tool by creating a module with 'Welcome' in the name. You can feature one or more topics to be displayed. Release conditions appy to the content shown in the widget. Instructors can modify the content of the welcome message at any time.
Visual Table of Contents
Visual Table of Contents is a custom widget that displays a ‘flip tile’ visual representation of modules in a course. Each course module’s title and image appear on the front of a tile, with a visual indication of the learner’s progress through that module as well as the number of topics in the module. Learners can click on each tile, which will appear to flip over and reveal a description of the module. The module description and image are pulled from the module description seen in the Content tool.

Showcase YOU to your students and help them locate your contact information right away.
To set the information in your Instructor Profile, click on your name in the top right corner of Brightspace and choose 'Profile'. Enter whatever information you would like, and the information will automatically appear in the widget.

I changed my Course Homepage. Can I go back to the Homepage I was using before?
Certainly, you can use the following instructions to change your Course Homepage:
On your Course Homepage, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on the "..." icon
